<span style="background-color: #fefefe; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; text-align: left;">The Pier Head is a riverside location in the city centre of Liverpool, England. It is part of the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was inscribed in 2004.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; text-align: left;">The site encompasses a trio of landmarks, built on the site of the former George's Dock and referred to since at least 2000 as "The Three Graces":</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; text-align: left;">Royal Liver Building (far left), built between 1908 and 1911 and designed by Walter Aubrey Thomas. It is a grade I listed building consisting of two clock towers, both crowned by mythical Liver Birds. The building is the headquarters of the Royal Liver Friendly Society.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; text-align: left;">Cunard Building (centre), constructed between 1914 and 1916 and a grade II* listed building. It is the former headquarters of the Cunard Line shipping company.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; text-align: left;">Port of Liverpool Building (right), built from 1903 to 1907 and also grade II* listed. It is the former home of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well as you may have seen in my previous upload, the sunset was none existent yesterday, however the lack of light, cool clouds and breaking waves meant I could try minimalist shots here. This is my first attempt and proves all it not lost if the sun don't shine!!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
With the lack of 'real' spring in Liverpool and the fact I got home late I have had to resort to another indoor shot. These are mothers day flowers. The red really caught my eye so I have decided to make it the feature and bring some colour into this grey day!</div>

I noticed this little fella on the way to work this morning and thought "that's got potential" then with these later nights I managed to get home just before sunset and seen it again and had to shoot it. Not only does it have good shooting potential it is also a symbol to me that spring has begun regardless of the freezing temperatures!Phillip Orrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12194152367487726578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1297279779442424364.post-47898921689726411912013-03-10T13:55:00.000+00:002013-03-14T13:55:23.289+00:0069/365 Chip Thief<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whilst at Munich airport I stopped for a pint (or 5) and a McDonalds. When sipping away I noticed a lot of birds wanting anything that landed on the floor, I tried to shoot them on the ground with my 18-55 but it wasn't happening. I then decided to lay a chip trap on the table and pre-focus just behind the chips and this was the best I got, the greedy little fella looks like he has had a good fill judging by his beak!</div>

I visited Runcorn Bridge recently capture it in the morning light at slack tide. The reflections were perfect leading the way for what turned out to be a great day of photographs.<br />

I had a bit of an adventure today looking for different things to shoot. I finally managed to get back out with my camera today! After work I headed down the beach to catch the sunset, I wasn't expecting much with the cloud cover but as always with this scene it had a surprise for me and produced a great little sunset! :) <br />

It's been a busy weekend visiting family, doing some DIY and planning things for our wedding. I did plan on getting out for some shots but the weather was bleak and family came first. Instead I just had the camera by my side looking out for interesting day to day items. This was my favourite of the day for me.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Being an Everton FC supporter my favourite colour is obviously blue! I therefore always pick blue for many things in life but looking through my PITT artist pens I realised there is a world of colour out there so maybe its time to let more colours into my life?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was suppose to be a quick photo but it turned into 2 hour photo session!! I never realised how difficult it is putting colours in order, its lucky I haven't got OCD otherwise I would never get anything done!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
My Monday portrait comes a bit late this week. With all the great sunsets early this week I decided to grab life by the B*&%s and make the most of it. This project is certainly turning me into a glass half full type of person as I now wake up optimistic about what photographic adventures are about to come my way.</div>

Over the weekend I witness the RNLI being deployed in New Brighton, I couldn't quite see who they were going to help but it was great to see the crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of these everyday heroes! After struggling for 10 minutes to open the lock of the gate I watched in anticipation as the guys came back onto dry land with the growing crowd. These guys really are selfless giving their time for free to put themselves in dangerous situations to help those in need at sea.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I managed to get on board HMS Illustrious after waiting in very long cues - which showed how welcome this visitor was to Liverpool. It was great to see such an icon in our city and a great turnout and weather for her visit. </div>

I managed to get off work an hour earlier today to see Lusty as the sun was setting of The Wirral. She is such a great Ship and it will be sad to see her leave in a few days. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my first Valentines Day as a Fiancé but I must admit I don't really like the day all that much. I prefer to show love on random days not just when I am told to. For me all it does is forces unromantic people into buying over priced flowers and sitting in packed restaurants. It also makes all those single people feel left out whilst all the couple declare their love for each other. I had to create a Valentines shot for my projects so I decided to get one which showed an alternative view.</div>

<br />
I decided to embrace the dark today and catch some light trails. I didn't fancy carrying my tripod so I had to capture freehand, after many failed attempts I had the brainwave of going the train station and using the bridge as support, this is the result. <br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Day 5 and I finally got to play around with my SLR for my 365 again. It was great day so I went down the beach with my new nifty 50 to see what I could do and this stands out, it was actually the first one I took today!</div>

Christmas is over but the days are still short so it is hard to get out with the camera through the week. I spotted this earlier and captured it incase I don't get another opportunity today!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
So today it's back to reality time with weather and work. I figure I'm not getting the slr out today so my No.2 of 365 is taken at the bus stop in the rain. I'm quite pleased with the results from my phone, it will be interesting to see what camera and lens I use the most over the year.</div>
